The Fender Jaguar was first released in 1962. It was loosely based on the Jazzmaster with many improvements and design advancements.
 The Jaguar was fitted with a shorter scale 22-fret neck and featured smaller single-coil pickups with notched side plates and better RF shielding.
 The guitar also featured 3 slider switches, instead of the toggle switch used on the Jazzmaster. The Jaguar quickly became popular on the
 emerging surf music scene of the day.
 
 The Jaguar headstock decal changed very little through the sixties, except for the ever increasing DES and PAT numbers!
