The Fender Telecaster was introduced in 1951 as the
Broadcaster but was quickly renamed the "Telecaster", as the rights to the
Broadcaster name were already taken. It was the first commercially marketed
solid body electric guitar.
What started out as a simple model favored by county players, became a line
